Every CBL verified athlete receives a rating of 0-100 based on a performance metric built from validated match results, opponent quality, recent form, consistency, and tournament placement.
The rating is designed to reward more than wins and losses. Dominance measures how decisively a wrestler wins, Resilience measures how difficult they are to beat, Strength of Schedule evaluates competition quality, Momentum reflects current form, and Consistency measures sustained performance.
Measures how decisively a wrestler wins. Falls, technical falls, major decisions, and overall winning performance raise this component.
Measures how difficult a wrestler is to beat. Close losses carry a smaller penalty than major decisions, technical falls, or falls.
Measures the quality of competition a wrestler has faced. Ranked opponents, Top-10 opponents, and strong overall competition increase this score.
Measures current form. Recent tournament performance matters most, allowing the rating to recognize wrestlers who are improving right now.
Measures sustained performance across the wrestler's available career results rather than a single tournament or match.
Two wrestlers can have the same record against very different competition. The Combat Life Athlete Rating is designed to recognize that difference. Facing ranked wrestlers, competing against Top-10 opponents, and performing well against stronger schedules all help create context around the raw win-loss record.
Beating stronger opponents is more meaningful than simply accumulating wins.
A close loss to elite competition should not be treated the same as a decisive loss.
As more verified events and results are imported, the system gains a fuller view of the wrestler's competitive history.
